Using Wordle in the Classroom--

Lately, I've been experimenting with Wordle in my classroom. One possible use that I introduced to my students, was using Wordle to identify key terms and ideas in complex texts. I asked my students to do this with Amy Devitt's "Generalizing About Genre" (example, above) prior to writing their responses, and it seems to have helped.

I was wondering if anyone else has any ideas for using technology like this in the classroom?

  1. In my Wordle post a few weeks past, I fed Marc Antony's funeral oration for Caesar into the Wordle machine and got some striking results. The accomanying blog expands on the use of Wordle in the classroom.
